UNCOMMON
GROUND.
Public hosted design review. The operational association website and owner services have not launched; board approval is still required.
A new design direction
Building-inspired colors and architectural artwork, with comfortable text, a visible menu, everyday shortcuts, saved text-size and contrast choices, and no automatic animation. The public bulletin and private owner pages share the reading controls.
What you can review
Architectural sketch and spring visualization based on real building photography; geographic community map; architectural and historical stories; sample screens for accounts, board or management approval, private updates, owner posts and moderation; a public community bulletin with a board/management editor and who/what/when/where/why/how fields. Fictional layout examples are clearly labeled and excluded from production.
What still needs confirmation
New management company and effective date; current contact information; photo permission; map entrances; approved minutes and current operational notices. This design review is publicly accessible. Production hosting for the owner service, administrator setup, email recovery, and the operational launch remain outstanding.
Research and sources
Cross Keys residential directory supports the nine associations and attributes Harper House to Frank Gehry, 1975. The Village’s history describes James Rouse’s vision. The February 2025 redevelopment update reports completed Village Square work.
Map points identify buildings, streets, or representative addresses; they do not establish legal boundaries. The homepage image is an AI-generated architectural sketch based on the spring visualization and a historical photograph credited to the Village of Cross Keys. The original and spring views remain selectable in the hero. The architecture section now uses a different AI-generated sheet of roofline, balcony, and pergola studies. The owners’ blog invitation has a separate conceptual community-life illustration; it does not depict actual residents. Seasonal plants and lighting have been edited; the image does not document current landscaping. Public reuse permission is not established.
Why live here & local identity
The neighborhood guide links directly to six destinations and six school profiles, researched October 19, 2026. Directions start at Harper House; no fixed journey time or school assignment is promised. Western’s current district-listed temporary location is included instead of the older Falls Road address. The “One home” message describes this project’s community purpose, not official endorsement or an exclusive claim that no other building site exists.
Flag artwork: Baltimore City by Dyfsunctional, public domain in the United States; Maryland by Michael Wheeler, CC0/public domain. Both are displayed once, in the community identity section, in their original colors. City design: Baltimore City Code. State design: Maryland Secretary of State.
A village in the city
The expanded Village Square guide links to 18 named businesses, the retail and professional directories, and the Village’s events page. Current primary sources support dining, shopping, medical/dental and professional services, plus three outdoor pools and tennis courts. The live Misty Valley Farms listing was checked October 19, 2026 and lists Wednesday and Friday seasonal stand days. The Village residential guide describes shared amenities; current access and operating rules still come from CKMC and the association.
Owner privacy
No private email-derived summaries, meeting records, documents, or real owner accounts are included in this review. The operational owner service will require board or management approval before access. Private source research remains in the separate project handoff.
Designed for easier use
Large text and controls, keyboard focus, clear form labels, show-password buttons, and plain directions help residents find their way. This is a practical accessibility improvement, not a certified accessibility audit. User testing with residents and assistive technology is still needed before launch.
